This course is a second year program in biology and is the equivalent of a general biology course taken during the first year of college. The course aims to provide students with the conceptual framework, factual knowledge, and analytical skills necessary to deal critically with the rapidly changing science of biology. The three general areas of study are: molecules and cells; heredity and evolution; and organisms and populations. Throughout the course major themes recur: structure and function, energy transfer, continuity and change, regulation, interdependence in nature, and connections between science, technology, and society Resources: *Please use these resources at your discretion, in order to prepare for the respective AP Exam. AP Physics 1
This course is designed for those students wishing a comprehensive overview of physics topics. This course will prepare students to take the AP Physics 1 exam and will provide a solid foundation for those students wishing to pursue engineering, science, computer science, or medical studies in college. It will focus on Newtonian kinematics, e.g., forces, mechanical energy, momentum, and rotational motion, as well as an introduction to electricity (Coulomb's Law and simple DC circuits), and mechanical waves and sound. This course requires strong math skills, and ability to work independently, an ability to organize time effectively, and an ability to think critically. The AP Physics 1 course is fast paced and requires students to do a substantial amount of problem solving.
This course is designed for those students wishing a comprehensive overview of physics topics. This course will prepare students to take the AP Physics 2 exam and will provide a solid foundation for those students wishing to pursue engineering, science, computer science, or medical studies in college. It will focus on thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, optics, electricity and magnetism, and quantum, atomic, and nuclear physics. This course requires strong math skills, and ability to work independently, an ability to organize time effectively, and an ability to think critically. The AP Physics 2 course is fast paced and requires students to do a substantial amount of problem solving.
