Classics Competitions 

BLA prides itself with its classics focus in your liberal arts education. Your Latin and Classics teachers will certainly help you prepare for these exams, so contact them for extra resources, and if you need more information, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Carvalho
National Latin Exam(NLE)
The National Latin Exam (NLE) is a test given annually to Latin students across the United States and around the world.The NLE is not meant to be a competition but rather an opportunity for students to receive reinforcement and recognition for their accomplishments in the classroom. Depending upon their score, students may earn certificates, medals, and may even qualify for scholarships.

Registration: Usually in January

National Classical Etymology Exam

The National Classical Etymology Exam (NCEE) is designed to test a student's ability to handle both Latin and Greek derivatives and their usage in the English language. 
Registration Window: September 1 - October 27
Exam Window: November 1 - December 13

Per Student Exam Fee: $4.00
The National Mythology Exam
The Medusa Mythology Exam, which is intended for students in grades 9-12. The National Mythology Exams are given annually to over 9,000 students in approximately 400 schools nationally and internationally. This year, a digital option will be offered.
Exam registration: September 1, 2020 - January 15, 2021 
Exam administration: February 22 - March 5, 2021
